Knitting is an endlessly fascinating hobby with so many different possibilities once you know the basics. Our knitting Tutor, Sally Hart, has devised a series of bags for you to learn on so you can progress from one to the other as your skills improve, but you will be making something useful right from the start rather than just sampling squares of knitting. Sally takes you through all the basic stitches, casting on and off, decreasing and increasing, ribbing sewing up and lining in the first two bags (Sally describes them as a bag for your knitting needles and a project holder, but they could also be used for bottle bags, ipad holders etc.) and then moves on to cover blocking your work and producing icords and pompoms and embellishing your knitting with a type of chain stitch embroidery. Vitally, she also includes an alternative set of the same video tutorials for those who wish to knit left-handed.
